December 2018 issue

Happy new year..
2018 is coming to an end and many of us are saying "yeah get lost 2018, I don't want you in my life"
Others may be saying "2019 can wait. I'm happy here" while others are saying nothing because they are either rocks or trees or some other inanimate thing.
Regardless of your stance, time has its way of stubbornly moving at its own pace with no consideration of anyone preferences.
In fact the most ancient scriptures in the world confirm that time only exists to destroy the world and kill everyone.
Sometimes if you've been good it will reward you but as time goes on no one does anything good because they are bewildered by the onslaught of misinformation coming from the rulers of the world - the fashion, meat, sex and gambling industries.
Those of us who are victims of these greed ridden industries influence are dead to ourselves, robbed of our natural self expression, unclean in heart and body, violent, stressed, angry and anxious and untrustworthy and wary of everyone.
My stance is almost neutral like "cheers 2018, you taught me some important stuff like paying tax, that one does not simply argue with ones wife, clean the dishes properly and get a job. Oh and also that my shitty teachers in school were trying their best and didn't represent the character of the creator.
and "Hi 2019, I welcome you, please take a seat and treat me like a submissive student. Just don't land me in jail, break any of my bones, have my bike stolen, make me sick (as in actually sick) or anything that will cause a disturbance to my peace of mind. That'd be great.
Ok not completely neutral but my expectations are reasonable.
Of course time couldn't care less about my reasonable expectations either. Its as merciless as the other elements but I cant just let go of my expectations because then I wont have anything to complain about when time cuts them up into little pieces and throws them in my face.
Your well wishing friend,
Muchu

Highlights of the year
Not dying from starvation
Playing on my phone
Watching videos on youtube
Eating a whole box of maltesers by myself
Working
Winning arguments
I invite you to consider that what got us here won’t get us there. If you want a different quality of life next year you'll have to give up some things and take on new ways of being.
Being right, eating chocolate alone, playing on your phone, bingeing on Netflix or youtube and just surviving is the worst way to use this valuable gift of human life.
We all came to this world with more or less the same soup ingredients. We can make a good soup or a lousy one. It’s up to us. Many of us have burnt our soup but all is not lost. We can try again the next day. The lesson I have gleaned from my spiritual studies is that the best soup is made according to a recipe or under guidance from a good cook. Winging it can work sometimes but not all of the time.
Rather than winging it this year why not approach a good mentor and take guidance? They can tell you how they use the same ingredients we all have in life to make a great life you can be proud of. I personally have a mentor and it really helps. You may find your life becomes more like your role models if you take their advice. You’d think that would be a given but society doesnt really have a culture of mentorship so much.
"Life isn't meant to be full of anxiety. If we are experiencing anxiety we are doing something wrong"
- The Vedas
Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized souls can impart knowledge unto you because they have seen the truth.
-Bhagavad Gita AS IT IS
