Soul on Fire💓⚡

Welcome to another E-zine.
Enjoy this 19th issue and "Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire"
Whats on top:
This past week has been full of victory for me. Highlights and things I'm grateful for were:
Yesterday uni was shut so I stopped a young man named Kiren and sold him a bhakti book about called Easy Journey to Other Planets. I told him it teaches how to transcend the BS of this insane world.
Leading the harinam party on Friday was super fun
Today we did yoga nidra in class. That was exactly what I wanted to do!
Yesterday my mate kicked a soccer ball, did 10 sprints, 10 push ups and a solid yoga session. Haven't done yoga in too long.
On Saturday I led a graffiti workshop with a young man at the skate park and met a bunch of other writers.
Yesterday I was painting a mural and then one of them was passing by and we ended up doing a collaborative piece.
Doing 20 laps at Porirua pool and then hitting the sauna, steam room and slide.
Riding to uni in Porirua today
Making a curd curry for all my friends for a gathering at our place.
Reading the Srimad Bhagavatam
Giving a bike to a friend and hanging out
About the Charlie Brown Mural
This mural started out with the theme 'Equal Vision' hanse the animals and the man about to eat the dog. Then I chose to take a turn and theme it around letting go, moving forward and being a soul on fire. There are symbolic images that reflect this theme such as Charly Brown letting go og the black baloon and Love heart man on fire. There is also the short but powerful phrase 'Yes to Life'
About the Tag Mural
The third image shows the mural I painted with a local artist. His word is Urong and mine is Veda. Veda means truth so we thought it would be interesting to create a piece that had the two words repeated like a pattern and overlapping. Urong means doubt and also to take a step back in Filipino and obviously sounds like You wrong in English. The two words seem to contradict each other but its often the case that the first step in understanding truth is to doubt.
"In science, a healthy skepticism is a professional necessity, whereas in religion, having belief without evidence is regarded as a virtue" - Paul Davis
The bhakti wisdom is understood not on blind faith but through a similar method to the scientific process.
"It follows that if we are to verify our alternative model of reality, we must find a way to reawaken the full cognitive capacity of the conscious self. Here we shall outline a practical method for doing this, known as the process of bhakti-yoga, or devotional service. We shall present this process as a method of obtaining reliable knowledge about aspects of reality inaccessible by traditional methods of scientific research. We should note, however, that bhakti- yoga is not simply a method of obtaining knowledge. Rather, it is a means whereby each individual conscious self can attain the ultimate goal of his existence." - Richard L. Thompson
So Veda or truth is arrived at through intelligence Faith comes from experience. In bhakti yoga which is also called buddhi yoga the practitioner is not advised to surrender their intelligence, but to surrender with intelligence.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this! "Leave a comment" by replying:)
