Bhagavad Gita for beginners - Reincarnation

Artist: unknown
As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. A sober person is not bewildered by such a change.
BG 2.13
This verse explains how reincarnation works.
We reincarnate (reflesh) every seven years. Every cell is renewed. While we sleep our skin cells die and new ones replace them. Similarly when we “die” we are simply replacing our bodies.
We don’t go to hell to burn forever. We will reincarnate into another body to fulfil our material desires. Rather than accepting reincarnation as our destiny we should make a start in becoming free from the attachments that bind us to the material world. Then we can return to the spiritual world where life is fun forever. God lives there and there are these trees that can produce whatever you want immediately but no one asks for anything because they are so blissful serving Krishna.
We can only be eligible to return there by becoming fearless and pure. We can do that by associating with devotees of Krsna. They will engage us in spiritual discussion and feed us blessed food.
Just come along to any Hare Krsna event and taste the flavour of genuine happiness.

Throwback to the time Harinamananda and I went on a spontaneous Harinama during the Occupy Melbourne thing. It was a warm evening and we weren’t planning on going to the Occupy site. We went there and within five minutes there were 80 people dancing in a big circle with us. It was nectar.
Who, what and where are you?
What has remained unchanged throughout your entire life?
While youve been changing physically, emotionally and intellectually something has remained constant. What is that?
Now reflect on how you’ve changed your clothes in the last 24 hours hopefully.
Think about how the clothes you wore before the ones you’re wearing now. They gave you a certain buzz or feeling but when you put them in the wash you didn’t feel any separation anxiety. You just chucked em in the wash and chucked on some fresh ones.
Think of your baby body and how you don’t have it anymore. Where did it go? Every cell of that body is gone. The skin cells die and fall off in your sleep. The answer is your mum vacuumed it up and It merged back into the earth. So who are you? If it hurts to think about it then you really need to think about it. By avoiding it you’re choosing to live in illusion which means youre just like everyone else being victimised by fake news, fake food, fake friends, fake currency, fake happiness and fake selfhood.

Why practice Krsna Consciousness?
