Hey everyone, let's dive into a topic close to my heart as a Krishna devotee and artist.
This morning my pregnant wife came into the temple room of our place and thought “of all the creative projects I’m working on, this is the most epic”
I firmly believe that procreation, the act of bringing new lives into this world, is a sacred and glorious endeavor. You know, it's not just about moving paint around on a canvas or expressing ourselves through various artistic mediums. It's about embracing our role as co-creators with Krishna Himself.
Krishna, in His infinite wisdom, has revealed in the Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 7, Verse 11) that He is the ultimate expression of sex life according to dharma, the righteous path. This verse reminds us that procreation, when carried out in accordance with moral and spiritual principles, is a sacred act infused with divine energy.
In our spiritual journey, some may argue that preaching in our own creative ways takes precedence over starting a family. However, we must be wary of falling into the influence of asuras, those who seek to disrupt the family unit and diminish the population. They may attempt to convince us that pursuing our individual creative pursuits is more important than creating and nurturing life.
Yet, let's consider the possibilities. What if the most powerful form of preaching lies within the very act of raising righteous children who embody Krishna's teachings? What if by creating a loving and spiritually enriched family, we contribute to a positive shift in society, spreading Krishna consciousness through future generations?
By procreating with love, devotion, and adherence to dharma, we create a nurturing environment for our children to grow and flourish. We provide them with the tools to navigate life's challenges, to become ambassadors of Krishna's teachings, and to contribute to a world desperately in need of spiritual guidance.
So, my dear friends, let us not underestimate the divine potential within the act of procreation. Let us celebrate and glorify the sacred dance of creation, upholding the family unit as a vital pillar of society. By doing so, we thwart the efforts of those who seek to diminish the population and disrupt the divine order.
Embrace the joyous journey of parenthood, guided by Krishna's love and wisdom. Let us continue to express our creativity in various ways, but never lose sight of the profound impact we can make through the act of bringing forth new life into this world.
May Krishna bless us all as we joyfully participate in the supreme art of procreation, upholding our dharma, and spreading His divine message of love and devotion to all corners of the world.
After thought:
Another way procreation is an epic creative project is that its a collaboration and the collaborators themselves transform into a new thing. Before making babies we are individuals. We are like solo musicians. Then we get marry someone and become a duo, if we are Krsna conscious it’s really a trio and if we make a baby we get to be a band with multiple members playing different roles. The children learn everything from us and it that sense we pass on all our individual and collective values and understandings which they go on to share with countless people themselves even without needing to speak them. They teach us also which helps to transform us into epic grand parents and be a source of happiness and wisdom for our kids kids like our grandparents are for us (hopefully).
