A Short Story

He approached the community leader and asked for permission to speak to the monk. The leader was hesitant at first but seeing the man's sincerity, he eventually agreed to arrange a meeting with the monk at the jail.

Days later, the man found himself sitting across from the monk he had encountered in the park. He told the monk how grateful he was for his words and how they had changed his life. The monk listened patiently, but when the man mentioned his plan to clear the monk's name, the monk shook his head.

"You don't need to do anything," the monk said. "I am a servant of Krishna, and I will always face opposition from those who do not understand our ways. My job is to spread the message of love and devotion, and if that means I must face criticism and persecution, then so be it."

The man was taken aback by the monk's words. He had expected the monk to be grateful for his help, but instead, he was content to carry on with his mission, no matter the cost. It was then that the man realized that true devotion meant living a life of service, even in the face of adversity.

He left the jail that day, humbled by what he had learned. He knew that he had a lot to learn about devotion, but he was willing to start the journey. As he walked away, he knew that he would never forget the monk's words and the lesson he had learned that day.
