There Are No Ordinary Moments

Hey friends,

I had a realization this morning that I wanted to share with you all about the duality of boredom and enthusiasm.

Awareness is unlimited and there's no reason to ever be bored. If you find yourself bored, it's likely because you're being a dopamine junkie and not fully present in the moment. The enlightened have no dull moments because they see the beauty and wonder in everything around them.

Boredom is blindness to God, and unfortunately, the church has made God a boring topic. But in Krsna consciousness, we learn that God is a person and if we read His pastimes, we can be enraptured and find peace. Through continuous hearing, we become pure and enthused to hear more, which is called samadhi - the topmost goal of all yoga and the natural state of the soul.

TLDR: strive for enthusiasm, which comes from the words "en" and "theos," meaning in God. Boredom is in the seer, not the seen. Those who have eyes smeared with the salve of love for Krishna in a constant state of trance. The same can’t be said of those who have the vision of differentiation. As Bhagavatam says:

Persons with the vision of differentiation are imbued with the material qualities lamentation, jubilation, fear, envy, greed, illusion and madness. They are influenced by the immediate cause, which they are busy counteracting, because they have no knowledge of the remote, supreme cause, the Personality of Godhead.

Srimad Bhagavatam 10.4.27

So my reflection on this verse is boredom or lamenting are for those in the bodily conception of life or those with a vision of differentiation.
This differentiation is always based on the body and mind which are full of likes and dislikes.

The self realized soul sees with equal vision (BG 5.19) and is therefore always in bliss as stated in the Bhagavad Gita:

One who neither rejoices nor grieves, who neither laments nor desires, and who renounces both auspicious and inauspicious things – such a devotee is very dear to Me.

- Bhagavad Gita 12.17

So if we want to be happy, we first have to stop trying to be happy. Happiness is a result of peace and peace comes from being connected with Krsna. As stated in Bhagavad Gita:

One who is not connected with the Supreme [in Kṛṣṇa consciousness] can have neither transcendental intelligence nor a steady mind, without which there is no possibility of peace. And how can there be any happiness without peace?

- Bhagavad Gita 2.66

How to connect with Krsna is easy! You chant Hare Krsna and hang out with devotees.
I really recommend this. The world is an abyss my friends and you need to get on board with spirituality before it becomes a vital necessity.

Here’s a great clip that illustrates this point about awareness.
