Today’s podcast is inspired by this quote:

It made me think about Kṛṣṇa and His message to Arjuna.

Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer or give away, and whatever austerities you perform – do that, O son of Kuntī, as an offering to Me

A vaishnava would edit Royces quote a little to say

Almost anything done for Kṛṣṇa is favorable to Bhakti.

Bhaktivinoda Thakur sings:

I will dovetail my desires in your service and only engage my anger towards those envious of you (Krishna). In this way all my activities will become favorable to pure devotion.

The Perfection of Mess.

Anything offered to Kṛṣṇa becomes perfect. In Alcoholics Anonymous they say people in addiction are less than animals and people in recovery are better than human. That’s because they lean into the grace and power of the Supreme transcendence in all their activities. The result is a way of life that could be called perfect because it’s God’s way.

I chose this title after looking at the piece and distinguishing that it’s aesthetically a mess but it’s all holy imagery of some kind.

So even tidy art that doesn’t refer to the divine is a mess because it comes from messed up thinking - thinking divorced from reality - the reality of our relationship with Source.

On the other hand brutalism, graffiti or other low brow art that depicts divinity is perfect just like an alcoholic n recovery can be better than an aristocrat.

mad-yaji mam namaskuru
mam evaisyasi satyam te
pratijane priyo 'si me

SYNONYMS

man-manah—thinking of Me; bhava—just become; mat-bhaktah—My devotee; mat-yaji—My worshiper; mam—unto Me; namaskuru—offer your obeisances; mam—unto Me; eva—certainly; esyasi—come; satyam—truly; te—to you; pratijane—I promise; prijah—dear; asi—you are; me—My.

TRANSLATION

Always think of Me and become My devotee. Worship Me and offer your homage unto Me. Thus you will come to Me without fail. I promise you this because you are My very dear friend.
